Kayla Soltys controlled 10 draws Thursday to help Highland defeat Foxcroft 20-5.

Gabby Brisbin scored seven goals Thursday to help the Highland Hawks continued their undefeated start to the girls lacrosse season by beating Foxcroft 20-5 Thursday on the road in Middleburg.

She also had one assists while helping the Hawks amass 28 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers to boost their record to 10-0 overall with a 5-0 mark in the Delaney Athletic Conference.

“Our aggressiveness in transition and on 50/50 balls stood out today,” Highland coach Kristen Conques said.

Kayla Soltys finished with five goals with two each from Abby Soltys, Caite Leake and Ella Nelson. Adding one goal apiece were Juliana Silvernale and Cristina Sirianni, while Kayla Soltys had 10 draw controls.

Abby Soltys had three assists while Silvernale had two and Kayla Soltys had one, as did Sirianni. Goalie Maddie Turner added nine saves.

Highland boys tennis 8, Wakefield 1

The Highland Hawks remained undefeated Thursday by defeating Wakefield’s boys tennis team 8-1 Thursday at home in Warrenton.

“All played great tennis in singles and doubles,” said Hawks coach Paolo Riccetti, whose record improved to 9-0.

Winning 8-0 were No. 4 singles player Gavin Blackburn, No. 5 Soren Roberts and the No. 2 doubles team of Bluckburn and Roberts. Will Jarvis added an 8-1 victory while winning 8-3 were No. 3 singles player Luke Warfield, No. 6 Andrew Ewert and the No. 3 team of Warfield and Ben Blount.

Jarvis and Jack Medica added an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles while Medica lost the No. 2 singles match 8-1.
