Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13, for a Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office master deputy who died Monday, Aug. 5.

“The Sheriff’s Office is saddened to announce the untimely passing of Master Deputy Sidney Bolden,” a post on the sheriff’s office Facebook page said.

“Master Deputy Bolden was known by many in the Sheriff’s Office and throughout the community,” the post read. “He served Fauquier County for 26 years, starting as an explorer and serving as a public safety tele-communicator, as a deputy sheriff in the Adult Detention Center and as a volunteer at the Warrenton Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company.”

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Mount Nebo Baptist Church, 4679 Free State Road, Marshall. Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to noon and the funeral is set for noon. Interment will follow at Solon Cemetery, 795 W. Washington St., Middleburg.
