A 23-year-old man was found dead in his Fauquier County home on April 14, along with evidence of narcotics/opioid use, according to a spokesman for the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. James Hartman said that this is the county’s first overdose death this year.

Hartman said that the medical examiner is conducting an investigation and has not yet released further details.

Deaths from drug overdoses have been on the rise since 2013; they  numbered  19 in Fauquier County in 2018.
