Wear hunter orange to draw awareness to 22,000 gun suicides per year and to re-commit ourselves to building a safe and healthy community by storing guns locked and inaccessible to children and anyone under a mental health crisis that could hurt themself or others. Our table at First Friday will include a memorial wall where you can remember a loved one lost to gun violence, and several local businesses will be raising awareness with orange-themed discounts and specials for anyone wearing orange. Please join us and remember to be SMART - Secure your guns, Model responsible behavior around guns, Ask how guns are stored where your children visit or go to school, Recognize the risks of gun suicide, and Tell others to be SMART. We can all prevent gun violence together.
