Rotary Leader Visits Warrenton
By BobShriner
Rotary District 7610 Governor Chuck Davidson met on Thursday with Warrenton Rotary Club president Beth Ledgerton, Assistant Governor Bill King, and other local club leaders at Fauquier Springs Country Club. Club leaders outlined for the Governor their plans for community service projects for the coming year. The Governor commended the club and its leaders for their continuing strong support for community and international service projects.
Founded in 1926, Warrenton Rotary Club is one of the oldest Rotary Clubs among the 51 clubs in the district, and one of the largest, with over 70 active members. Each year it provides college scholarships for several Fauquier County students, donates dictionaries to third graders in local public schools, and provides both financial and hands-on support for a wide range of local and international charities.
Rotary Clubs are the oldest and largest community service organization in the world with over 1.2 million members in virtually every country in the world. Its members are local business and professional leaders who support the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self".
