Teens Rally After Loss of a Fr

By hayfieldfarm

Has anyone noticed whats happening with a large number, of students at Liberty High School? Their classmate from the Class of 2007, died in a tragic car accident last weekend, and to deal with their emotions and show love to Edward Magee's family they have done such a great job of rallying together. It seems that Liberty itself put nothing in motion for these kids to cope with their loss. This was a 2007 graduate and had just attended prom 2 weeks prior with a student who of course still attends Liberty. Edward has been born and raised in Fauquier County, as well his family. This was the largest attended Viewing that I have attended ever. These kids where asking for help from community and school personel, they were scolded by the resourse officer and principals for displaying flags Monday and Tuesday, but gave them nothing like counselors or grief talk.I know they were looking for a police escort from Liberty High to show there solidarity to Edward by forming a convoy(I tried to count say 100 carswith 1 to 4 people in each!), and to no avail. So it was in the parking lot that the father with his sons 4-wheeler and both the American and Rebel Flag (3 things Edward loved) organized then drove at a slow and respectful pace thru Opal and then Warrenton to arrive at Moser, again with no organization from police or even Moser on parking all these cars, these kids just kept on doin'. They spoke together on a PA system, they had shirts made up special, they wore what his parents suggested they where, they did it all!!!!!! It was a wonder display of love and respect for this family and these kids, as "REDNECK" as they "look" showed exactly how "CLASSY" they are. THis story has so many avenues it could take on, and Edward Magee was a very popular friend that will be missed by so many, but he sure would be proud of what his "people" did to show love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a proud parent of 2 of the kids who have mourned their first experience of losing a close friend, who rallied with so many awesome kids. I know my kids are blessed to be friends with so many awesome Fauquier County kids. Thank you to them for helping me deal with this tradegy as well. Tina Butler Goldvein
