On Tuesday, Warrenton's town council will consider a final plan for a 15-townhouse development on the corner of Falmouth and Madison streets on the southern end of town.
The project, "Madison Square," is linked to the Mosby's Crossing project, a plan for 135 homes just across Falmouth Street. The developers of both projects, BRS Mosby LLC, have told the Warrenton Planning Commission that the townhouses represent a compromise from their original plan for the Madison Street property, which would have put more than 50 homes on the space.
The planning commission unanimously approved preliminary designs of both projects.
BRS Mosby LLC has also asked for a waiver for public improvement requirements for the curbs and gutters bordering the townhouse project.
"The justification for this waiver is to preserve the existing stone wall along the eastern and southern boundary lines of the site," said Assistant Project Manager Tracy Colbert of Bowman Consulting, the engineers tasked by BRS Mosby LLC to design the project.
