Inspiring the community to create

Thursday, Dec. 26 | By Hannah Dellinger
Running a glass blowing studio is a labor of love for Tom Veirs.

He doesn’t have a shop to make a profit, he does it so that he can enjoy crafting fine art and teaching others his techniques. Veirs Studio Glass & Gallery opened about twelve years ago in an old 1909 gas station building at 5197 Lee Highway in Warrenton. The studio is a place for Veirs to share his work with other artists and with the community.

“Since this is a second career for me, I don’t have to make a whole lot of money. I think doing the demonstrations for the youngsters…is one of the things that I like the best,” said Veirs.
