Route 15/29 (James Madison Highway) is closed at Route 663 (Alanthus Road) in Culpeper County due to a crash involving two tractor-trailers and a third passenger vehicle. The crash occurred on the northbound side but southbound Route 15/29 was also closed to allow room for emergency response, according to a release from the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The Virginia Department of Transportation is working to detour traffic as follows:

- Southbound traffic will be diverted onto Route 685 (Beverly Ford Road/Fleetwood Heights Road) at Elkwood and return to Route 15/29 via Route 663.

- Northbound traffic will use the Route 15/29 southbound lanes and return to the northbound side at a crossover just south of Elkwood.

The crash occurred shortly after 7 a.m. and involved trucks carrying produce and lumber. The road will likely remain closed for several hours.
