Student/teacher baseball game to raise funds in Fauquier teacher’s memory
Wednesday, Apr. 9
The Tracey Paige Memorial Scholarship committee will have its third annual student/teacher basketball game on Saturday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at Liberty High School. All proceeds will help fund a scholarship in memory of Ms. Paige, a kindergarten teacher at Walter Elementary, who died in 2010 at the age of 42; she had taught at the school for a decade.
“Our goal is to offer two $1,000 scholarships to graduating Liberty High School seniors who attended Mary Walter Elementary,” said Pat Baker, a colleague and friend of Ms. Paige and one of the founding members of the scholarship committee. “Tracey was so supportive of all children and worked tirelessly to make sure all students reached their full potential. We felt this was the best way we could carry on her legacy that tells children how important it is to be the best you can be.”
Tickets for the game are $3 per person (free to children under 3). Refreshments and school spirit items will be available for purchase.
The public is invited to attend the game.
