After Lorrina Sanchez had a baby a couple of years ago, she thought roller skating with her baby in a stroller would be a great way to shed the baby weight and to entertain the whole family.

“I thought that it would be a fun exercise not only for the kids to wear them out, but for moms who are trying to get fit again and come out and skate and stroll around with their children,” said Sanchez, who is the manager of Rollerworks Family Skating Center in Bealeton.

The first Wednesday of every month Rollerworks offers a stroller skate event from 10 a.m. to noon. Parents and care takers can bring children under the age of five to the event. It costs $3 per child and another $3 for the adult’s skate rental if they chose to skate with the kids.
