Sons of the American Revolution honor Fauquier first responders

Thursday, Nov. 15 | By Mark Grandstaff | Google+
The Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution recognized a Fauquier County EMT and the county's volunteer fire and rescue president for outstanding contributions to their fields.

The society awarded Fauquier EMT Lisa Davis with its Emergency Medical Services Commendation Medal and Volunteer Fire Rescue Association President Tom Marable with its Fire Safety Commendation Medal.

In nomination letters, Fauquier Fire Chief Tom Billington praised Davis for her eight years of service and work on the volunteer association's public education committee.

"[Davis] has been instrumental in projects that have greatly and positively impacted the community, which would not have been possible without her impeccable leadership skills and guidance," Billingon wrote.

He lauded Marable for carrying out his responsibilities in planning new county fire stations and managing funds between 11 volunteer companies.

"President Marable exemplifies the true meaning of being a volunteer firefighter in his dedication and passion for what he does," Billington said.
