Bell to lead Boys and Girls Club

Tuesday, Aug. 12 | By Steve
The Boys and Girls Club of Fauquier named Lynne Richman Bell executive director of the club's Warrenton and Cedar Lee locations.

The club's board of directors recently completed a reorganization that divided the former executive director role into two separate positions, one focusing on club leadership position and the other on club programming.

Bell was chosen for the leadership position and replaces Boys and Girls Club founding executive director Jon Gregory. The club is still searching for someone to fill the programming spot.

“Ms. Bell’s duties will include overseeing program development, securing resources, funding and partnerships and developing and implementing strategies and plans as directed by the board,” said board President Wayne Harne.

Bell grew up in rural west Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and English from Angelo State University.

She has 22 years of experience in preschool-grade 12 private education administration and development in addition to teaching music history, music theory, Bible, English as a second language, literature, and American history to speakers of other languages. She served as head of school for the Midland Christian Academy for eight years.

“Ms. Bell’s leadership skills coupled with her background in education make her uniquely qualified to help take the club to the next level,” said board member and search committee chair Crystal McKinsey, who also chairs the club’s capital campaign committee.

The new leader of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fauquier plans to grow the clubs while focusing on involving and engaging community leaders in programming. “My goal is to serve even more young people in our community and to serve them more often,” said Bell, who began her new position on Aug. 11.

Bell is also the chairman of the board of the Fauquier Chamber of Commerce, a role she will continue to fill as she takes the lead at the Boys and Girls Club of Fauquier.

An avid student of dressage, Bell spends much of her free time with her horse. She and Tony share a home in Sumerduck.

The club’s search for a program director continues. Those interested in applying for the position can learn more and apply online at: www.bgcfauquier.org.
