Remington man dies in car crash
A man from Remington died on Sunday due to a car accident.
Around 7:30 a.m., James W. Floyd II, 44, was ejected from his vehicle, according to Sgt. Les Tyler of the Virginia State Police.
Floyd came out a of a curve, ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, then ran off the left side of the road.
He struck a ditch, when the car overturned as it went through a fence. Floyd was ejected; he was not wearing a seat belt. He died at the scene as a result of injuries, according to Tyler.
He had been driving a 2000 Honda Civic down Rt. 653, Morgansburg Road, about one mile south of U.S. Rt. 17.
Tyler said that alcohol was not a factor, and the cause is still under investigation by Trooper T.B. Ralls.
