School officials want to know your favorite Fauquier County principal.
Parents, school employees, students and community members can nominate a principal for the 2014 Distinguished Educational Leadership Award, which recognizes principals who go beyond the day-to-day demands of their position to create an exceptional educational environment. The Washington Post Company Educational Foundation established the award.
The nominations have to be in by Jan. 10, 2014.

The nomination form calls for statements to show how the nominee has managed effectively, shown and encouraged creativity and innovation, fostered cooperation between the school and the community, maintained a continuing dialogue with students and parents as well as faculty and staff, kept abreast of developments in the field of education, encouraged team spirit, demonstrated leadership and exemplified commitment and continued to play an active role in the classroom.
Nominees must have a minimum of five years experience as a principal, three of which must be with Fauquier County. The following principals are eligible to be nominated: Barbara Bannister, Cindy Carter, Patty Comstock, Steve Kadilak, Roger Lee, Ruth Nelson, Alex O’Dell, Steve Parker, Joy Seward, Major Warner, Marypat Warter, Judy Williams and Christie Wolfe.
