Despite 10 first-half saves by goalie Liam Walsh, the Highland Hawks lost to the Randolph Macon Academy boys lacrosse team, 12-6, Thursday at home in Warrenton.

“Props to Liam Walsh in his tremendous effort,” Hawks coach Kevin Helmick said. “He kept us in the game.”

Walsh finished the game with 12 saves, but Randolph Macon’s second-half surge dropped Highland’s record to 2-2 overall and in the Delaney Athletic Conference.

Brandon Landers led the Hawks with two goals on five shots and picked up three ground balls. Nick Whitehead added one goal, two assists and two ground balls, while Jack Silvernale won 10 of 13 face-offs and had three ground balls and one assist.
