The Liberty Eagles beat the Potomac baseball team, 8-1, Saturday on the road in Dumfries, continuing their heavy-hitting ways early this season.
Liberty (2-0 record) previously beat Spotsylvania, 9-2, on the road Friday.
Against Potomac, C.J. Lindsay finished with five RBI thanks to a grand slam home run and a triple. Logan Aylor (triple) and Andrew Summers also had one RBI each. Summers also combined with Derek Dueling on the pitcher’s mound, allowing the one run while striking out five.
In the Eagles’ season-opener against Spotsylvania, Quentin Rodney went 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBI, while Summers went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Brock Smith, Austin Booth and Dylan Warnell had one RBI each, while Liberty’s pitchers – Aylor, Smith and Coy Brown – combined to allow one hit while striking out six.
