Kettle Run Teacher named finalist for national ‘All-Star Teachers’ program

Chad Wright, history and social science teacher at Kettle Run High School, has been named one of 90 finalists in the “Target Presents PEOPLE All-Star Teachers” campaign which celebrates remarkable current and retired teachers who make an impact on the lives of their students and communities. Mr. Wright is one of three finalists competing to represent the Washington Nationals at the 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star Game July 15 at Target Field in Minneapolis.
To help Mr. Wright win the contest, fans are encouraged to visit AllStarTeachers.com to vote for him from now through June 29. Visitors to the site may view the full list of 90 finalists, three representing each Major League Baseball team, and vote on their favorite stories. The 30 winners, one representing each MLB Club, will be announced prior to All-Star Week. Winners will be included in All-Star Week activities and recognized during the pre-game ceremony of the 2014 MLB All-Star Game on FOX. One winner will be featured in PEOPLE during the week of the MLB All-Star Game.
Target presents “PEOPLE All-Star Teachers” is just one part of Target, MLB and PEOPLE’s effort to celebrate teachers and raise awareness about the importance of education this baseball season. MLB Legends have attended Target-hosted School Library Makeover events in MLB communities throughout the first half of the season including Hall of Famer Ernie Banks, Vinny Castilla, Ron Cey, Cliff Floyd, Luis Gonzalez, Tim Laudner, Gary Matthews, Tony Oliva, Harold Reynolds and Michael Young.
