The Highland Hawks broke a four-game losing streak Thursday by beating the Shenandoah Valley boys basketball team, 74-57, at home in Warrenton.

Four Hawks scored in double figures to improve their record to 7-6 overall (2-2 Delaney Athletic Conference). Nicky Sim led the way with 16 points, while Mark Terrell had 15, Traves Stolterfoht had 14 and Logan Miller had 10.

Terrell also had eight rebounds and two blocks, while Sim had six steals, and Stolterfoht had five rebounds and three assists. Terrell, Stolterfoht and Shane Buss (eight points) each made two 3-pointers.

Shenandoah "had nice run in the second quarter after we got off to a good start," Hawks coach Jake Shechtman said, "but our guys did a nice job of responding. We tried to make some adjustments. … We were able to build our lead back up in the second half."
