The Fauquier Falcons’ record fell to 5-6 Wednesday with a 47-38 loss to the Skyline boys basketball team at home in Warrenton.

Dillon Tapscott led Fauquier with 14 points, while Caleb Lantz had nine and Carl Hellandsjo had six against the 10-1 Skyline Hawks, who have lost this season to only Kettle Run in overtime.

Jeremiah Blackwell lad Fauquier with four rebounds, three assists and two steals, while Hellansjo added two assists, two rebounds and a block. Tapscott had three rebounds, while Leif Heltzel had two steals and two rebounds.

James Wood boys basketball 82, Liberty 79

Despite a triple-double by Xavier Colbert, the Liberty Eagles lost Wednesday to the James Wood boys basketball taem, 82-79, on the road in Winchester.

The Eagles (5-8) have lost six of their last seven games after beginning the season 4-2.

Colbert had 39 points against James Wood, as well as 16 rebounds and 10 assists. Aaron Patterson added 15 points while Arber Krasniqi and CJ Lindsey had 10 each.
