The Wakefield Owls won another close girls basketball game Monday.
They rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Seton, 41-38, on the road in Manassas two days after squeaking past Highland, 39-36, Saturday.
Wakefield (13-3) trailed Seton, 21-16, at the end of the second quarter, but the Owls narrowed that deficit to 28-26 at the end of the third and then went on a 15-10 run in the fourth.
Naomi Mutombo had 18 rebounds and Airielle Jenkins had 16 points to help Wakefield win its 11th consecutive game. Eight of Mutombo’s rebounds were offensive, while Jenkins made 8 of 9 free throws.
Alexis Smith added seven points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Autumn Sanders had five points, five rebounds and two assists.
