Fauquier public safety workers to get terrorism response training at hospital
In October, the county's fire, rescue and law enforcement workers will have a chance to learn how to react to a large-scale terrorist attack.
The Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management will host a class, "Public Safety Response to Terrorism – Awareness Course," Oct. 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Fauquier Hospital's Sycamore Room, according to a release.
"Through case history, the student will receive information on incident recognition, scene control, and responder self-protection," reads the class description. "This course focuses on identification of the incident crime scene, incidents involving chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive incidents, cyber terrorism, eco-terrorism and planning considerations."
The Virginia Department of Emergency Management is offering the class at no cost to the county's law and rescue workers.
