The Fauquier County School Board is scheduled to endorse March as Youth Art Month at their March10 meeting at Liberty High School.
“Integrating a strong art curriculum into students’ lives can help them achieve academic goals,” said Warrenton Middle School art teacher Marisa Pappas in a press release. “The visual arts have been proven to promote 21st century skills important in the academic and life success of our students.”
The local business community in Warrenton partners with FCPS art teachers to help promote art education by accepting student artwork for display in their buildings and store windows throughout the month of March. More than 15 businesses around Warrenton will be displaying 76 pieces of artwork from all public schools in Fauquier County.
