Despite a first-quarter lead, the Kettle Run Cougars lost to the Dominion girls basketball team, 53-41, Monday at home in Nokesville.

Addy Foudray scored seven points in the first quarter to help give Kettle Run (1-2) a 17-16 lead, but Dominion took a 31-23 lead at halftime. The Cougars cut that lead to two points in the second half, but never regained the lead.

Melissa McCann led Kettle Run with 14 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks, while Jasmine Webster had eight rebounds and seven points and Foudray added four assists to her seven potns.
