The Fauquier Falcons' six wrestlers who competed at the 2013 Beast of the East wrestling tournament this weekend combined to score 26.5 points at the University of Daleware's Bob Carpenter Center.

Matt Raines and Garrett Tingen led the Falcons by advancing to the quarterfinals of their championship brackets and finishing the tournament with 3-2 records.

Tingen made it to the quarterfinals at 145 pounds before getting knocked to the consolation bracket with a 10-7 loss to No. 1 seed Alfred Bannister of Bishop McNamara. No. 9 Tingen then lost his first consolation match, 13-3, to No. 14 Willie Davis of Woodbridge. Tingen finished with 11 points, while Raines had 8.5.

Raines also ran into a No. 1 seed in the quarterfinals, losing to Blair's Joseph Mckenna, 14-2. No. 8 Raines then lost to No. 3 Clay Walker of Eastside, 11-2, in the consolation bracket.

Elsewhere, Daniel Ariola lost his opening match at 113, but rebounded to finish with 3-2 record, while Kyle Roche went 2-2 at 126, Trevor Marable went 1-2 at 132 and Andrew Smith went 0-2 at 182.
