The Kettle Run Cougars placed eighth out of 16 teams this weekend at the Max Horz Invitational wrestling tournament in Berkeley Springs, W. Va.
Sherando won with 208 points, while Kettle Run had 121.
Leading the Cougars was Cameron O’Conner with a runner-up finished at 132 pounds, Colson Jaynes with a second-place finish at 160 and Adam Bresson with a runner-up finish at 195. At 220, Jacob Schwind placed fourth, while Ross McInnis took fourth at 285, Justyn Bush went 2-2 at 120 but did not place, and Earnie Lee went 2-2 at 182.
Liberty wrestling 3rd in tournament
The Liberty Eagles placed third out of 12 teams at the Stonewall Jackson Raiders Classic wrestling tournament Saturday in Manassas.
Jayson Cody led Liberty by winning the 120-pound weight class, while George Ngoh finished seconds at 132, Reco Bumbrey placed second at 182 and Todd Parker took second at 285. Cameron Yates added a third-place finish at 170 and Carder Yurgaitis took third at 220.
