Can you work wonders with a grocery list and a sheaf of coupons? Fauquier For Immediate Sympathetic Help (FISH) wants to hear from you.

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, they're throwing down the gauntlet for an Extreme Coupon Challenge to bring in non-perishable food for those who need it. Anyone who wants to register for the challenge should email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). The first 10 contestants who register will take part in the challenge.

Here's how it works: on Jan. 28, the contestants meet at 6 p.m. at the Warrenton Chik-Fil-A. The contestants will each receive a $50 budget. In one week, they have to use the $50 to buy as many non-perishable food items as they can. They'll return their hauls to the Fauquier FISH food bank by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4.

The contestants will earn prizes for biggest savings and most items brought in. There will also be a donation box located at Warrenton Chick Fil A through out the week for additional non perishable items, as well as coupons to go to Fauquier F.I.S.H.

"Our shopper volunteers are a vital part of the operation; the food bank menu provides balanced complete meals and shopping is a weekly task," said Elaine Harris of Fauquier FISH. "Coupon shopping allows us to get the maximum out of donated dollars and currently we have one extreme coupon shopper on staff who brings tremendous value to our effort and is a huge benefit to the overall budget."
