Coming soon: A new state-of the-art veterinary facility
What will eventually be Culpeper County’s most technologically advanced veterinary hospital to date is currently being constructed off of Lee Highway in Amissville, just across the Fauquier County border.
Clevenger’s Corner Veterinary Care began its expansion in early October. Dr. Michael Watts founded the practice in 2005, and it has outgrown its modest two-room practice located at 18157 Lee Highway. The new hospital is being constructed directly behind the current office, which will remain in operation until the new facility is complete. Dr. Watts started planning for the new facility about two years ago and it is set to open at the beginning of July.
While the state-of-the-art animal hospital is nearing completion, Dr. Watts and his team are preparing by acquiring new technology and staff to accommodate their patient’s growing needs.
“We already have upgraded our laboratory equipment and converted our general x-ray equipment into digital to move over to the new building,” said Dr. Watts.
He explained that the new facility will treat all of the air that comes into the building with ultraviolet light in order to kill germs. The hospital will also feature a positive pressure HEPA-filtered (High-efficiency absorption) room, a separate isolation facility for contagious animals, digital dental equipment, and a special procedures exam room that will allow for more space for therapeutic lasers and ultra sound exams.
