Bealeton man charged with DUI manslaughter after fatal Sunday crash

Sunday around 1 p.m., Debra Marie Chapman was killed as a result of an accident caused by Jeffrey Allen Mickles who was driving under the influence, according to 1st Sgt. Les Tyler of the Virginia State Police.

Mickles, 46 of Bealeton, was driving north in a BMW on Old Mill Road. The road curved, but his vehicle went off the left side of the road into a field, where it flipped.

Chapman, 59, was ejected and died at the scene due to injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Mickles was taken to Fauquier Hospital then to Fauquier County's Adult Detention Center.

He is charged with involuntary manslaughter, and driving under the influence. Trooper C.R. Scally investigated the scene.

My Thoughts and prayers go out to both familys . Debbie was a wonderful person. She will be greatly missed by alot of people.RIP my true friend.
