"The jubilee event raised: $28,956 between business sponsors, silent auction and attendees," Crystal McKinsey said of the Boys and Girls Club fundraiser last week.

"The Honorable Dudley Payne, as Santa Clause, was a highlight of the evening (with children and adults)," said the founder and CEO of McKinsey Development. "A group of Boys and Girls Club children serenaded the guests as they arrived with Christmas carols."

"One attendee wrote four checks throughout the evening as she learned more about the club," she said. This is a far cry form the initial 1.6 million which was needed at the beginning of the campaign launch in September, but the club is still in danger of being shut down if $196,490 isn't raised this month.

"We need to keep the fundraising momentum going over the next two weeks to reach our goal," she said. McKinsey Development made the decision back in September to do the campaigning for the Club.

"The club is a hidden treasure to those unfamiliar with the programs and resources," McKinsey said.
