Larcenies Reported

The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received two reports of thefts last week in which the stolen items were worth at least $500. The details included in police reports are as follows:

— May 11, Someone from the 10200 block of Elk Run Road, Catlett reported the theft of an Echo leaf blower, two Stihl hedge trimmers and a trailer. The estimated loss is $907.

— May 15, A complainant from the 10900 block of Blake Lane, Bealeton, reported the theft of jewelry. The estimated loss is $527.


Field GPS, Garden Equipment Damaged

The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received a report of damage to private property May 13.

A police report indicates someone from the 3800 block Rectortown Road in Marshall reported damage to a field GPS and garden equipment. The estimated loss in the case is $2,000.


Deer Allegedly Causes Wreck

A motorist from Washington, Va., was uninjured when she hit a deer May 14.

According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, the crash happened in the area of Vint Hill Road and Spy Plane Lane at approximately 6:21 a.m. Heather Michelle Frye, 24, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu when she hit a deer that was crossing the road from a wooded area. The vehicle sustained approximately $3,000 in damages.


One Hurt In Crash

Police said a Rixeyville man was hurt when he was involved in a one-car crash May 15.

A Fauquier County deputy's report indicates the crash happened in the area of Route 55 (John Marshall Highway) and Tuckers Lane at approximately 7:02 p.m.

Matthew Charles Spitzer, 20, was driving a 2000 Acura Integra when it went off the right side of the road. Spitzer allegedly over corrected, causing the vehicle to go off the road in the other direction. The car hit a culvert pipe before coming to rest, according to the report.

Spitzer who was visibly injured, was not transported to the hospital by EMS personnel, according to the report.

He was charged with reckless driving.
