Numerous brother-sister pairings make Fauquier Swim Club a summer force
As far as the Fauquier Swim Club is concerned, the summer season is very much a family affair.
FSC is not only the largest summer swim squad in Fauquier County with 148 kids, but many of them also have the same last names.
According to coach Angie Smith, FSC has 48 sibling groups, accounting for 126 team members.
Smith obviously welcomes kids from the same family. They help her fill the many spots needed on a team that includes kids from ages 5 to 17.
“It's pretty common to have siblings on any swim team,” said Smith, FSC's second-year coach. “It's good to see the different levels having siblings.”
FSC is out to defend its Tri-County Swim League title against local competitors Chestnut Forks Swim Club and Fauquier Springs Country Club, as well as rivals from Culpeper and Orange.

“Angie has energized the team by welcoming and nurturing the kids,” Robert St. Ledger said.
Another name coming up frequently for FSC is O'Connor. Sisters Samantha, Shayla and Sadie O'Connor all look comfortable in the pool.
