Catlett This Week: Get Chicken Barbecue for July 4
Congratulations to two Catlett couples who celebrated their wedding anniversaries on June 20. Joan and Brad Douglas celebrated their 50th with family and friends in her home town of Narrows, Va.; and Darlene and Sam McGee celebrated their 31st.
I was in the post office when Darlene told me to "Tell Mr. Copeland Sam and I are celebrating our 31st anniversary tomorrow." She always lets us know they are still together.
Last year, we were in the front yard when she delivered our mail and reminded us of their 30th anniversary. Let's wish many happy days ahead for both of these couples.
Congratulations to Hazel (Brown) Croushorn, who celebrated her 94th birthday on June 24.
She grew up in Catlett and lived here until her marriage to William, her late husband.
Doris Bowman celebrated her 95th birthday on June 25. Both of these ladies attended Jehoash Presbyterian Church — Hazel all her life and Doris until she moved to Warrenton.
