Stillwater Studios to host inaugural Positive Music Festival
Two years ago Jeff Wolf, a math, science and music teacher for Fauquier County public schools, attended a music festival in Kansas City. It changed his life.“The music was positive, uplifting, inspiring. It helped me to feel better all around and inspired me to make changes, not just in myself, but in the world around me,” Wolf said.
According to Wolf, the conference drew musicians from Unity, Church of Religious Science, Sufi, Yoga and other New Thought churches, all with one common goal – to share positive music, expressing the divine in each of us and hope for a peaceful world.
“Tears streamed down my face for a week,” Wolf said, noting that he went home, resigned from his job, and founded Stillwater, a combination recording studio and bed and breakfast. This Saturday, June 20, from 4-10 p.m., Stillwater will host its inaugural Positive Music and Arts Festival, showcasing more than a dozen performing groups. The festival will include musical acts, wine tasting, seated massage, arts, crafts, and food.
Located in Marshall at the foot hills of the Shenandoah mountains, Stillwater’s 12 acres include a lake, and idyllic places to walk and observe nature, to sit and meditate.
