Larceny ReportedThe Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received a report of a larceny June 9.
Police records indicate a caller from the 14200 block of Hume Road reported the theft of two lawn chairs, an umbrella and base. The items were reportedly worth $1,100.
Fraud Investigated
Fauquier County detectives are investigating two reports of fraud made to the Sheriff's Office last week.
According to police records, the details are as follows:
— June 9, Someone from the 9100 block of Mountjoy Road, Marshall, reported an Internet fraud. The estimated loss is $4,115.
— June 11, A complainant from the 12600 block of Marsh Road, Bealeton, reported fraud by impersonation. No additional details were provided.
Check Forgery Alleged
Police said someone from the 11800 block of Coffman Circle in Bealeton reported forgery and use of a forged check to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office June 11. The estimated loss in the case is $1,000 and the investigation is ongoing.
Catalytic Converters Stolen
The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received two reports of thefts from motor vehicles June 10-11.
According to police reports, the details are as follows:
— June 10, A complainant from the 7200 block of Colonial Road, Warrenton, reported the theft of a catalytic converter and exhaust pipes from a motor vehicle. The items were worth approximately $810.
— June 11, Someone from the 7200 block of Colonial Road in Warrenton reported the theft of a catalytic converter from a motor vehicle. The estimated loss is $800.
Two Injured in Crash
Two people were hurt in a two-car crash June 9, police said.
According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, the wreck happened in the area of Baldwin Street and U.S. 29 (Lee Highway) at approximately 1:20 p.m.
Egbert Moore Tingley, 88, of Warrenton, was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion when he stopped at a stop sign on Baldwin Street, police said. Apparently, he was heading west and intended to cross the northbound traffic lanes of U.S. 29 so he could turn left into the southbound lanes.
When Tingley pulled away from the stop sign, he allegedly hit a 2003 Lexus ES300 driven by Luisa L. Yodis, 53, of Warrenton.
Yodis, who was visibly hurt, was transported to the hospital by EMS personnel, along with a juvenile passenger who was also injured, police said. Tingley did not appear to be hurt, but complained of pain or momentary loss of consciousness. He was not transported to the hospital.
Tingley was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
Minor Injuries Reported in Crash
No one was seriously hurt in a two-car crash in Remington June 10, police said.
According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, the wreck happened in the area of James Madison Street and West Main Street at approximately 6:37 a.m.
Harold Lee Meadows, 53, of Remington was entering an intersection after stopping at a stop sign when his 1995 Chevrolet Blazer got hit by a 1996 Honda Accord.
Neither Denishia Yvette Harris, 25, who was driving the Accord, or Meadows were visibly injured although both complained of pain or momentary loss of consciousness. Neither was transported to the hospital by EMS personnel and no one was charged in connection with the crash.
Motorist Charged With Failure To Keep Right
A Warrenton man was reportedly charged with failure to keep right after he was involved in a two-car crash on Vint Hill Road June 15.
According to 1st Sgt. Matt Hanley of the Virginia State Police, the wreck happened near Broad Run Church Road at approximately 7:17 p.m. Andrew Mills, 21, of Warrenton, was driving a 2007 Honda CRV when he was “distracted by his radio” and crossed the center line, Hanley said.
When Mills did so he allegedly crossed the center line of the roadway and hit a 2004 Ford Explorer driven by Victoria Rodgers, 39, of Catlett. Mills' vehicle continued off the right side of the road and hit a tree, Hanley said.
There were no reported injuries.
