Remington Man Charged With Burglary, Malicious Wounding

Police said Gregory Lee Wallace, 26, of Remington, was charged with burglary and malicious wounding in connection with an incident in Culpeper July 10.

The incident occurred at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Duke Street at approximately 11:15 p.m.

Police said witnesses told them the alleged perpetrator and several other people left the scene in a white van. Police stopped the vehicle several blocks away.

According to Culpeper Capt. Ricky Pinksaw, the argument and assault was apparently drug related.

The victim was treated and released from Culpeper Regional Hospital for a cut to the head and possible rib injuries.

Wallace remained in jail without bond early this week. A bond hearing was scheduled for Tuesday morning.

DUI Arrests Made

Warrenton police arrested and charged three motorists with DUI last week.

According to Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak, the details are as follows:

At midnight July 6, an officer saw a car without a brake lights or tail lights at the intersection of Winchester and King streets. The officer initiated a traffic stop and smelled alcohol on the driver, who was identified as Derek Maloney, 36, of Amissville. Maloney allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for DUI.

Officers on patrol at approximately 11:15 p.m. July 11 saw a vehicle driven through a stop sign at the intersection of Walker Drive and Rosedale Court. As a result of the stop, Casie Boyd, 20, of Warrenton was charged with DUI under 21 and possession of marijuana.

An officer who saw a car weave in traffic stopped a motorist on Frazier Road at approximately 2:17 a.m. July 12. The driver, Robert Dietrich, 34, of Warrenton, allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for DUI.

Residential Burglary Reported

Fauquier County detectives are investigating a residential burglary reported July 6.

According to police records, a complainant from the 3900 block of Rectortown Road, Marshall, reported the burglary and theft of medication. The estimated loss in the case is $300.

Aggravated Malicious Wounding

A Remington woman was charged with aggravated malicious wounding after she allegedly threw a rock that hit someone in the head.

Lt. Colonel Paul Mercer of the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office said Nicole Parsons, 23, was charged with the offense after an incident on Church Street in Remington at approximately 11:12 p.m. July 12.

Parsons was held in the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center without bond early this week.


Signs Damaged, Stolen

The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received two separate reports of damaged or stolen signs July 8-9.

According to police reports, the details are as follows:

July 8 — someone from the 7300 block of South Run Lane, Marshall, reported a sign had been damaged. The estimated loss in the case is $500.

July 9 — a caller from the 6300 block of Ernest Robinson Road, Marshall, reported the theft of a 2-1/2- by 15-foot wooden sign. It was reportedly worth $400, and the investigation is ongoing.

Following Too Closely Charged

A Gordonsville man was charged with following another vehicle too closely after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident July 7, police said.

According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, the wreck happened in the area of the Eastern Bypass (U.S. 29) and Lord Fairfax Drive at approximately 4:45 p.m.

Alvin Jamison Goodloe Jr., 29, of Gordonsville, was driving a 2001 Honda Accord when he allegedly struck another vehicle from behind. The other vehicle, a 2005 GMC pickup driven by Andrews Trejo, 30, of Culpeper, was stopped in traffic at a red light when it got hit, police said.

Neither driver was hurt.


Reckless Driving Alleged

Police said Thomas Micheal Wells, 55, of Aldie, was charged with reckless driving after he was involved in a car crash July 9.

A Fauquier County deputy's report indicates the crash happened in the area of U.S. 29 and Lord Fairfax Drive at approximately 4:17 p.m.

Wells, who was driving a 2007 Lexus, hit the back of a 1995 Kenworth tractor trailer, according to the report. The tractor trailer, which was damaged in the collision, was driven by Roger William Fishel Sr., 60, of Staunton.

Wells said he fell asleep while driving, police said. The tractor trailer was moving when it got hit.

Neither driver was hurt.
