Orange Wins Summer Swim Crown
It was a championship meet that unfortunately had to produce a defeated side.
Orange Country Town Pool and Fauquier Swim Club were both 4-0 going into Thursday's meet in Warrenton. With both teams having similar squad sizes of more than 100, it shaped up as a clash of the titans for the Tri-County Swim League title.
Orange came out on top 666-610 to finish the season as unbeaten champions. With having such a good run-in to the final meet, the Frogs can be forgiven for thinking about what could have been.
“We're all disappointed,” FSC coach Angie Smith said, adding that FSC had a great season despite the ending.

There were many standout performances for the Frogs. Amber Smith and Kelsey Smith led the team with five first-place finishes. Nell McBride and William Wendt finished first in three events apiece.
FSC swimmers that finished first in two events were Declan Downey, Erin Hogge, Shane Koehr, Brendan Rijke, Keeley Scott and Connor Sienkiewicz.
