Driver Wanted on Outstanding WarrantsA Remington man who was allegedly driving on a suspended license Saturday night was wanted on outstanding warrants from another jurisdiction, police said.
According to Remington Officer Tim Benjamin, police were advised to be on the lookout for a Ford Taurus. Officer A. Abdo stopped the vehicle at approximately 10 p.m., and an investigation determined that Douglas Twyman, 26, was driving on a suspended license, Benjamin said.
“Further checks confirmed Mr. Twyman had warrants for his arrest in Orange County for burglary, grand larceny, inhaling drugs and disorderly conduct,” Benjamin said.
Abdo reportedly cited Twyman for driving on a suspended license, and he was transported to the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center, where he was initially held without bond.
Larcenies Reported
The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received three reports of larcenies Jan. 5-11. The estimated loss in each case was more than $2,000 and the details included in police reports are as follows:
— Jan. 5, A caller in the 4000 block of Ringwood Road, Nokesville, reported the theft of a car dolley. The estimated loss is $2,500.
— Jan. 7, A caller in the 11000 block of James Madison Highway reported the theft of an air conditioner unit and copper pipe. The estimated loss is $3,000.
— Jan. 11, Someone from the 6000 block of Beach Road in Midland reported the theft of a horse. The estimated loss is $2,400 and the investigation is ongoing.
Equipment Damaged
Destruction of property reported to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office Jan. 5 remains under investigation.
Police records indicate a complainant from the 10200 block of Fayettesville Road, Bealeton, reported that a Komatsu track hoe PC160 had been damaged. The estimated loss is $82,000.
Minor Injuries Reported in Wreck
A Warrenton woman reportedly sustained minor injuries in a motor vehicle accident Jan. 8.
According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, the wreck happened on Halfway Road near Coon Tree Road at approximately 7:15 a.m.
Mary Lou Baker Snyder, 60, was driving a 1999 Toyota 4-Runner northbound on Halfway Road when she came around a curve and hit an icy spot in the road. The SUV slid, hit an embankment and flipped over, according to the report.
Snyder did not have any visible signs of injury, but complained of pain, according to the report. She was not transported to the hospital by ambulance and was not charged in connection with the wreck.
