Two charged with rape and burglaryTwo Linden men were arrested and charged with rape and burglary Sept. 12.

Maj. Paul Mercer of the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office said the arrest of Timothy S. Lowery, 20, and Kenneth R. Jenkins II, 28 stemmed from a thorough investigation by Fauquier County detectives.

On Sept. 10, deputies responded a report of a rape and burglary in the northern area of the county. The victim reported being attacked by assailants who were hiding in her residence late in the evening, Mercer said.

Both Lowery and Jenkins are reportedly being held at the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center without bond.


.Larcenies reported

The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received three reports of larcenies Sept. 11-14. The details as specified in police records are as follows:

On Sept. 11, a caller from the 6100 block of Enon School Road, Marshall, reported a Nintendo DS and a cell phone stolen. The estimated loss is $445.

On Sept. 14, a caller from the 12200 block of Elk Run Road in Midland reported the theft of an amplifier and white metal detector stolen from a vehicle. The estimated loss is $720.

On Sept. 14, a caller from the 8200 block of Springs Road, Warrenton, reported the theft of necklaces and a Rolex watch. The estimated loss is $5,300.


Vandalism discovered in Old Town

Warrenton Police are investigating vandalism which occurred in Old Town sometime between Sept. 11 and Sept. 12.

Police Chief Connie Novak said someone used a blue writing instrument to scrawl graffiti along several businesses on Main Street. The affected buildings include Crescendo, Hartman's Jewelers, Molly's Irish Pub and Iron Bridge.


Embezzlement investigated

Fauquier County detectives are investigating embezzlement reported to the Sheriff's Office last week.

Police records indicate someone from the 10500 block of Brent Town Road in Catlett reported the incident. The estimated loss is $30,700.


Fraud reported

A caller from the 5100 block of Catlett Road in Midland reported check fraud to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office Sept. 10. The estimated loss is $7,700. An investigation is ongoing


Orlean home ravaged by fire

A two-story house was reportedly destroyed by fire early Saturday morning.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services Chief Philip Myer said the blaze occurred at a residence in the 6500 block of John Barton Payne Road.

A passerby reported the fire, but the house was fully involved by the time the first units arrived, Myer said. In all, firefighters from 11 companies responded to the incident.

No one was home when the fire broke out, according to Myer. An investigation is ongoing.


Minor injuries reported in wreck

A Catlett woman emerged from a car crash unscathed, police said.

According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, the accident happened on Wilson Road at approximately 2:35 p.m. Sept. 9.

Sara Hodges Anderson, 27, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet south on Wilson Road when it went off the right side of the road. Anderson apparently over corrected and the vehicle spun around and went off the road into a ditch on the northbound side of the road, according to the report.

She did not have any visible signs of injury but reportedly complained of pain. She was not transported to the hospital by EMS personnel.


Three involved in crash

No one was seriously hurt in a three-car crash in the vicinity of Catlett Road and Messick Road Sept. 10, police said.

A Fauquier County deputy's report indicates the crash happened at approximately 6:08 p.m.

John Michael Stewart, 26, of Culpeper and Highqueen Sarpomaah, 35, also of Culpeper, were stopped waiting for vehicles to turn left on Messick Road. A 2001 Dodge Dakota driven by Flavio Azevedo Carvalhais, 22, of Nokesville, allegedly hit Sarpomaah's vehicle from behind, pushing it into Stewart's vehicle.

Stewart was not visibly injured but complained of pain, according to the report. He was not transported to the hospital by EMS personnel.


Two-car wreck reported

A Fauquier County deputy responded to a report of a two-car wreck in the area of Brent Town Road and Shortcut Road at approximately 6:42 a.m. Sept. 12.

According to the deputy's report, Johnathan Paul Graham, 25, of Fredericksburg, was driving northbound on Brent Town Road when he stopped for a school bus. Ellen Marie Pearce, 61, of Stafford, who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, was unable to stop when she came around a curve. Pearce's vehicle hit Graham's vehicle, according to the report.

Neither driver had visible injuries but both reportedly complained of pain. Neither was transported to the hospital by EMS personnel.


Lane change leads to crash

Police said a Dover Plains, NY, man was charged with making an unsafe lane change after he was involved in a car crash Sept. 13.

According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, the wreck happened on the Eastern Bypass [U.S. 29] near Lord Fairfax Drive at approximately 7:52 a.m.

William W. Fuller, 48, was driving a 2007 Freightliner tractor trailer northbound on U.S. 29. You Ja Jang, 49, of Warrenton was also driving a 1998 Mercury Villager northbound on U.S. 29 when Fuller attempted to change from the right to the left lane in order to avoid slower traffic, the report states. As he did so, Fuller allegedly hit Jang's vehicle.

Both drivers complained of pain but neither had any visible signs of injuries, according to the report.


Trial set in Feeley case

A two-hour trial has been set in the case of Susan W. Feeley, a Marshall woman charged with reckless driving/failing to maintain control of a motor vehicle.

According to court records, Feeley, 64, was convicted in General District Court Aug. 1. She appealed the decision to the circuit court.

Court documents also show that a citizen made the criminal complaint against Feeley following an incident in the area of Zulla Road and Rockhill Mill Road in mid-may.

George Christopher Maxwell accused Feeley of reckless driving when the group of bicyclists he was riding with had an "encounter" with her.

The trial is now set for 2 p.m. Oct. 27 in circuit court.
