Catlett This Week : Armstrongs celebrate 50 years
I don't know about you, but I am looking for signs of autumn. I've seen a few — school buses. goldenrod in bloom, cooler nights, and, here and there, a little color in the trees. I'm already looking, as I walk, for nature's fall beauty to make into a dried table arrangement. The leaves will soon need raking and a fire built to knock off the chill.
We send warm congratulations to Sara Lee and William Armstrong on their 50th wedding anniversary. We were not able to attend this event, but talking to Sara Lee a few days before, she told me they were married on a Sunday, and Aug. 10 this year fell on Sunday as they celebrated their wedding day all over again. May you have many more happy years together.
We would like to extend congratulations to Frank Moore as he celebrated his 75th birthday with his family last month. They all gathered at the home of his son, Greg, in Manassas. Best wishes, Frank, for many, many more birthdays.
We would express our sympathy to the families of Bruce Embrey, Lucile Colvin Breen and Oscar Olinger upon the death of their love ones. All three of these persons have roots here in Catlett. They will be missed greatly by the ones who loved them.
