Seminar on church construction and remodeling on Oct. 18

"Understanding the Building and Development Process" is a free seminar offered to church building committee members and pastors of churches considering expansion of existing facilities or entirely new church buildings.

Topics include ministry needs assessment, programming, master planning, site development, municipal permits and approvals, architectural services, budgeting, fundraising and financing, contracting and construction.

It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Vienna Presbyterian Church, Vienna.

Presentations will be by Scott Long Construction, with 47 years of experience in religious construction; TCL Ministries, with more than 200 capital campaigns developed; and LeMay Erickson Willcox Architects, with more than 100 churches designed.

Grove Homecoming Sunday

Grove Baptist Church will celebrate its 197th birthday at 10:30 a.m. Oct 12, which will also be its Homecoming service. Bring a covered dish and join them for special music, food and fellowship.

Little Zion anniversary celebrated

Little Zion Baptist Church, Bethel, will celebrate its church anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 12.

The Rev. Gillison Wanser and the congregation of First Springs Baptist Church, Warrenton, will be guests for the 3 p.m. service.

Lunch will be served. All are welcome.

Prophecy conference Oct. 12-13

Wondering about the future?

Mount Holly Baptist Church at 6172 Sumerduck Road, Remington, will be having a prophecy conference on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., and 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13.

Community breakfast Oct. 11 at Mount Horeb

Mount Horeb United Methodist Church will hold its monthly community breakfast 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11.

Bring an appetite and enjoy eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, biscuits and much more.

Join them, neighbors meeting neighbors through Christ. Mount Horeb is hosting Eluzinete Pereira Garcia, a missionary currently engaged in a public-health ministry in Latin America and the Caribbean. She will share her mission experiences with the community following the breakfast. All are welcome to attend.

Rising Zion choir anniversary celebration Sunday

The Mass Choir of Rising Zion Baptist Church will celebrate its 38th choir anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, when the guests will be the Voices of Merrifield and the Barbour Travelers of Clifton, Va.

St. James Baptist celebrates 142nd anniversary

On Sunday, Oct. 12, at 3 p.m., St. James Baptist Church in Bealeton will be celebrating its 142nd anniversary.

The speaker for the occasion will be the Rev. Phillip Lewis, pastor of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Upperville, along with his choir and congregation.

Dinner will be served following the morning worship service. Everyone is invited to fellowship with them.

Clothing giveaway at Warrenton Baptist

Warrenton Baptist Church will be holding a clothing giveaway from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the church fellowship hall.

They will be giving away adults, children and infant clothing as long as supplies last.
