Lethal Liberty run defense braces for GW-Danville
A feeling of anxious curiosity hangs in the air as the Liberty High football team prepares to host George Washington-Danville Friday night in the Northwest Region final of the Group AAA Division 5 playoffs.
While the Eagles (9-2) are preparing for a chilly night in Bealeton and go in as the favorites over G.W. (7-4), Liberty is also hungry to get an up-close-and-personal look at a running back that may hold the key to this big game: G.W.'s David Wilson.
A Virginia Tech recruit, Wilson has the reputation as a sort of one-man army who has run for over 2,200 yards this season. “He's the full package. He's 195 pounds, runs hard, is powerful and the fastest kid we've ever played against,” said Liberty coach Tommy Buzzo.
