Greenway flasher reported

Warrenton police have enhanced patrols in the area of the Warrenton Greenway following several sightings of a partially-nude man there.

According to Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak, there have been four reported incidents in the past few weeks.

Anyone who sees the man should call the police, Novak said.


Juveniles charged with attempted grand larceny

Three juveniles have reportedly been arrested in connection with an attempted larceny at Tractor Supply in Warrenton.

Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak said the incident occurred at approximately 7 p.m. Nov. 9. The call came in as a burglary in progress at 41 W. Lee Highway, and an investigation determined that three juveniles tried to break a cable that was securing a mini-bike to the front of the store, Novak added.

The suspects were identified as two 16-year-olds from Catlett and a 17-year-old from Warrenton. They have been charged with attempted grand larceny and trespassing.


Warrenton man charged with burglary

Matthew Leonard Stone, 30, of Warrenton has been arrested on multiple charges in connection with incidents that occurred in the Town of Warrenton between Oct. 30 and Nov. 11, police said.

Stone allegedly entered one home on Erin Drive at night and stole a vehicle from a garage. In another case, he allegedly entered an unlocked vehicle on North Third Street and drove it away without the owner's permission, according to Warrenton Police Chief Connie Novak. The keys had been left in vehicle, she added.

In the third case, Stone reportedly entered an unlocked vehicle on Amber Circle and stole items from it.

He has been charged with burglary, two counts of grand larceny and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and was initially held without bond.


Burglaries investigated

Two residential burglaries report to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office Nov. 10 remain under investigation.

According to police reports, the details are as follows:

— Someone in the 6400 block of Sumerduck Road, Remington, reported a residential burglary with damage to three doors and the theft of a Remington 870 and a Marlin 22. The estimated loss in the case is $1,350.

— A caller from the 12800 block of Elk Run Road, Midland, reported a residential burglary with the theft of a chainsaw, assorted power tools, a Browning Mirage bow, a Bulova watch and a metal detector. The estimated loss is $6,311.


Larcenies reported

The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received two reports of larcenies Nov. 10-12.

According to police reports, the details are as follows:

— Nov. 10, someone from the 3500 block of Catlett Road in Catlett reported the theft of a 24-inch chainsaw and power tools. The estimated loss is $1,074 and the investigation continues.

— Nov. 12, a caller from the 7300 block of Comfort Inn Drive in Warrenton reported the theft of cash, credit cards and a Wesson 357 from a motor vehicle. The estimated loss is $1,110.


Vehicle stolen

A motor vehicle theft reported to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office Nov. 11 remains under investigation.

According to a police report, the complainant from the 400 block of West Main Street in Remington reported a 2001 Yamaha Raptor 660R stolen. The investigation is ongoing.


Four hurt in motor vehicle accident

Four people were hurt in a two-car crash Nov. 11, police said.

A Fauquier County deputy's accident report indicates the wreck happened in the 5063 block of Lee Highway [U.S. 29] near Beverlys Mill Road at approximately 11:02 p.m.

Phra Chom Taengsap, 40, of Catlett, was reportedly driving a 1995 Nissan Quest northbound on Lee Highway in the right travel lane. Meanwhile, Donald Edgar Phebus, 77, of Frederick, Md., was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado out of the Shell Station. Phebus allegedly went straight out of the parking lot to access the crossover. As he did so, he hit the passenger side of Taengsap's vehicle.

Taengsap and three passengers all sustained visible injuries and were transported to the hospital by EMS, according to the report. Phebus, who was not injured, was charged with failure to yield the right of way.


Failure to control vehicle charged

A Broad Run woman was reportedly charged with failure to control a vehicle after she was involved in a two-car crash Nov. 16.

According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, the wreck happened in the area of U.S. 29 [Lee Highway] and Vint Hill Road at approximately 8:10 p.m.

Malinda Danielle Holohan, 18, of Broad Run, was reportedly driving a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier northbound on U.S. 29 and was coming across the crest of a hill before a red traffic light at Vint Hill Road. The deputy said she told him she looked down and then hit another car which had stopped at the red light from behind.

Holohan was visibly injured and transported to the hospital by EMS, according to the report. The other driver, Robert Clemons, 46, of Upper Marlboro, Md., complained of pain but was not transported.
