The Plains approves 2-percent lodging tax

John Hearty, owner of The Grey Horse Inn of The Plains, realizes his support for a town lodging tax may seem like a death wish.

Nobody likes taxes, especially if they add to the cost of doing business.

Still, Hearty asked The Plains Town Council, on which he serves, to adopt a 2-percent lodging levy.
