New Baltimore: Enjoy Warrenton Spring Festival
I understand that our area was lucky last week, when tornadoes hit south and east in Stafford County. We did get much needed rain, and prior to the rain, I did see a farmer cutting hay, so perhaps this year, Mother Nature will work her way out of the drought.
Then we had even more rain Sunday night into Monday. Perhaps it is time for a rain break.
Twenty-five eighth graders at Auburn Middle School spent last week at the NASA Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala.
Full-day activities left them tired at night, but energized and excited for the next day. What a wonderful experience for these students.
Thanks so very much to teachers J.T. Gard and Celia Reyes-Smith for being the students' chaperones.
Today, Wednesday, May 14, C. Hunter Ritchie Elementary will be hosting its annual kindergarten orientation at 10 a.m. Plan to meet in the cafeteria.
If you visit Iron Bridge Wine Company today and mention Team Jazzercise or Relay for Life, the company will donate 5 percent of its sales to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life campaign.
Auburn Middle School will host the second annual "A Peek at the World" event from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 16.
Eighth-grade students will be exhibiting their researched countries, integrating art, business, work and family, students and technology into their geography classes. Food from around the world will be served.
Coming up this Saturday, May 17, is the Warrenton Spring Festival on Main Street. This is an all-day event with many local crafters and great food. Bring an umbrella so that it won't rain.
Happy birthday to Tate Donaldson, Sam Cragun, Emily Yergin, Kaeley Baccus, Lexy Sams, Erika Passmore, Stephen Meyer, Chase Rathbone and Taylor Foley.
