Motor vehicle theft

A caller from the 11000 block of James Madison Highway in Warrenton reported the theft of a motor vehicle to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office April 28.

According to police records, the car was a Lincoln Mark III worth approximately $500. An investigation is ongoing.


Destruction of property

The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office received a report of damaged property April 29.

Police records indicate that someone from the 11900 block of Coffman Circle in Bealeton reported damage to a chain link fence. The estimated loss is $2,500.


Thefts reported

Three people reported larcenies to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office May 1-4.

In the first case, the report came from the 4200 block of Lee Highway in Warrenton, noting the theft of a Scag Turf Tiger, 6 x 10 trailer. The estimated loss is $11,200.

Another caller from the 13600 block of Silver Hill Road in Sumerduck told police their wedding and engagement rings had been stolen. The items are worth approximately $6,300.

On May 4, a complainant from the 6100 block of Georgetown Road in Broad Run reported the theft of a sign. The item is reportedly worth approximately $2,000.


Credit card fraud

A reported case of credit card fraud remains under investigation.

Police records show that someone from the 5500 block of John Barton Payne in Marshall reported the incident May 3. The loss is undetermined.


Special detail yields 30 summonses

Virginia State Police said troopers patrolling the area of U.S. 17 north of Warrenton issued 30 summonses for various traffic offenses on May 3. The troopers issued the summonses over a four-hour period, according to Sgt. Franz Mahler of the Area 12 Office in Warrenton.


Failure to yield right of way

A Warrenton man was reportedly charged with failure to yield the right of way after he was involved in a car crash April 29.

An accident report taken by a Fauquier County deputy indicates that the crash happened at the intersection of Macintosh Drive and Vint Hill Parkway at approximately 6:05 p.m.

Michael Daniel Piedmante, 37, of Warrenton, was driving a 1998 Toyota when he entered the intersection from a secondary street. A 2004 Toyota driven by Carrie Anne Suneson, 46, of Manassas, hit Piedmante's vehicle after he allegedly failed to yield the right of way.

Suneson was transported to the hospital by EMS personnel, according to the report.
