Battlefield overpowers LHS, 5-0, in boys soccer

If you thought Battlefield was good on grass, you should see them on turf.

Playing on an artificial surface for the first time this year didn't faze the Bobcats, who shut out the Liberty, 5-0, in a boys soccer match Friday at Kip Hull Field in Bealeton.

“We practice on it back home, but we hadn't played on it in competition yet,” said Bobcats' coach Ott Pimsaen before the match. “We believe it will bring out our strengths and the true capabilities of our team.”

The loss was Liberty's fourth in a row, all by shutout, and dropped the Eagles to 1-8-2 overall and 0-4 in the Cedar Run District.

Battlefield is 9-2 and a contender for the Cedar Run District crown.

This early goal foreshadowed more to come...
