Deer causes two car crash

A deer that bounded onto the Eastern Bypass near Warrenton caused a two car crash, police said.

According to a Fauquier County deputy's report, the incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. March 17.

Jose Antonio Quinteros, 45, of Culpeper was driving a 2008 Ford F-250 pickup truck south in the left lane. He was towing a trailer.

Meanwhile, Catherine A. Rainey, 65, of Locust Grove, was driving a 2008 Buick Enclave southbound in the right lane. The deer missed her car when it came out from the right side of the road, police said.

The animal hit Quinteros' pickup truck and went through the windshield, hitting him, police said. That allegedly caused Quinteros' pickup truck to hit Rainey's vehicle.

Quinteros was transported to the hospital by EMS personnel, according to the report. Rainey, who was also injured, was not transported, police said.
