Moving forward on schedule, construction at the Salamander Resort and Spa site in Middleburg is well underway.
“We have now been under construction for eight months,” said Salamander Hospitality President Prem Devadas. The resort, spa and restaurant are scheduled to open in March 2010, he said.
“It's really an exciting time now because you can really understand how the resort is going to be laid out,” he said.
The concrete foundation for the main building — the resort, spa and restaurant — has been laid and the lodging walls are going up, Devadas said.
The main road into the resort, Salamander Lane off Pendleton Street, has been graded.
“We expect to have the entire building built up and closed in by the beginning of next year,” Devadas said.
Once completed, he said, Salamander Resort and Spa will be "a sight to see."
