Grand jury indicts 40

A Fairfax County man accused of dragging a state trooper after hitting him with a motor vehicle and a Salem man who allegedly had his child in his car while leading state troopers on a high-speed pursuit, were among 40 people indicted by a Fauquier County Grand Jury on Monday.

The panel indicted John Hilliard Masterson of Fairfax on two felony counts of assault and batter on an officer; a misdemeanor count of reckless driving; and a misdemeanor count of failing to obey a law enforcement officer.

Travis Durell Preston of Salem was indicted on a felony count of child endangerment; two felony counts of assault and batter on a law enforcement officer; two felony counts of felony destruction of property; a felony count of felony eluding; and a misdemeanor count of reckless driving.

The panel also indicted:

  • Warren Timothy Berns of Gainesville on a felony count of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

  • Jasmine Michelle Blair of Bristow on a felony count of embezzlement.

  • Stuart Wesley Bright of Culpeper on two felony counts of embezzlement of $200 or more.

  • Trina Dorthea Canada of Front Royal on a felony count of cocaine possession.

  • Stephen Earl Carder of Midland on a felony count of possession of a stolen firearm and a felony count of distributing marijuana with intent.

  • Brian Lee Carter of Bealeton on two felony counts of distribution of marijuana to a juvenile.

  • Oddie Jerome Chisholm of Manassas Park on a felony count of driving after being adjudicated an habitual offender (2nd/subsequent offense).

  • Joel Gordon Dallain of Warrenton on nine felony counts of burglary; five counts of grand larceny; one felony count of credit card theft; three felony counts of uttering; three felony counts of obtaining money by false pretenses; and two misdemeanor counts of destruction of property.

  • Tracy Montgomery Franklin of Culpeper on one felony count of obtaining money falsely; four felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses; four felony counts of uttering; and four felony counts of forgery.

  • Sherika Renee Gaskins of Bristow on a felony count of petit larceny (3rd offense); and a misdemeanor count of obstruction of justice.

  • Matthew Emmett Grimsley of an unknown address on a felony count of heroin possession; and a felony count of grand larceny.

  • Ray Tillman Harris of Sumerduck on two felony counts of failing to register as a sex offender.

  • Todd Sterling Heise of Warrenton on a misdemeanor count of escape on work release.

  • John Atef Jacoub of Centreville on two felony counts of prescription fraud.

  • Julius Jenkins of Glen Allen on a felony count of possession of Oxycodone (a Schedule II controlled substance).

  • Michael Franklin Jenkins of Spotsylvania on a felony count of felony eluding.

  • Carl Alan Johnson of Bealeton on a felony count of driving after being adjudicated an habitual offender (endangerment); and a misdemeanor count of DUI.

  • Philip Maurice King of Culpeper on two felony counts of assault and batter on a law enforcement officer.

  • Ashley E. Kopala of Centreville on a felony count of felony eluding; a felony count of assault and batter; and a felony count of cocaine possession.

  • John William Markley Jr of Markham on a felony count of heroin possession.

  • Clifton Anthony Marshall of Warrenton of a felony count of cocaine possession.

  • Neal Everett Marston of Warrenton on a felony count of burglary; a felony count of grand larceny; and a felony count of uttering.

  • Robert Kendall May of Front Royal on a felony count of break and enter; and a felony count of grand larceny.

  • Robert Lee McLucas of Madison on a felony count of DUI (3rd offense within 5 years).

  • Thomas Paul Miller of Bealeton on a felony count of carnal knowledge.

  • Eric Andrew Minor of Warrenton on a felony count of arson; a misdemeanor count of destruction of property; and a misdemeanor count of assault and batter.

  • Gregory Christopher Moose of Warrenton on a felony count of driving after being adjudicated an habitual offender (2nd offense).

  • Michael Eugene Neff of Bentonville on a felony count of grand larceny; and a felony count of possession of burglarious tools.

  • Levester Aaron Simms of Upperville on two felony counts of providing materially false information; and a felony count of failing to register as a sex offender.

  • Janice A. Smetanka of Greensburg, Pa., on a felony count of issuing a bad check.

  • Dustin Glen Smith of Gainesville on a felony count of felony hit and run with property damage.

  • Gilbert M. Smith of Catlett on a felony count of driving after being adjudicated an habitual offender (2nd/subsequent offense).

  • Jose Luis Socha of Woodbridge on three felony counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child; and two felony counts of object sexual penetration of a child.

  • William R. Srdich of North Versailles, Pa., on a felony count of issuing a bad check.

  • David Wayne Tanner of Bealeton on a felony count of cocaine possession.

  • Floyd E. Thompson of Culpeper on a felony count of felony failure to appear.

  • Juan C. Torres-Ruis of Dumfries on a felony count of attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; and a felony count of making a false statement.

  • Amanda Jane Young of Rixeyville on a felony count of embezzlement.
